Longing

Longing

And since it is not prohibited,
I shall miss you like ice misses the freezer
When dropped into water.
As a plant experiment under close scrutiny

I shall miss you more
The way the day chases the night to sleep
And the night kisses the day to awakening.

I shall miss you even as I lie
With you in your forest of soiled clothes
Underwear, and used rubber.

I shall miss you worse as you stand like sea
Ever waving away sand.
