When Justice is not Served, resort to Vengeance

Yes. This is the system of the Philippines. Justice here is symbolized with a blindfold not because it doesn’t look on the status of the people involved, but because it is not allowed to look lest even it could be killed. Its sad how entities in the Philippines can be proud of their uniform and themselves, when only a few people are worthy of it.

I have always known I love that I have a high regard for my country. I never want to leave it just to earn more, and I’d rather swim in its waters than try the beaches of California and the Bahamas. But with this event my nationalistic outlook seemed to have been rattled. I do not want to be a Filipino for once. This might sound over-acting or what but the fact that they wear the same skin color, the same black hair and the same brown eyes and they can kill like some mobster in a Godfather movie, just gets to me. I would have understood if it was about vengeance. I would’ve excused it as I am vengeful myself, but it is not. It’s pure politics, done without shame in broad daylight. It’s even worse than the fights I’ve seen in my childhood. They were bad guys, who for some deserved to be killed, but these are civilians without guns, women without much of strength in a slap, children who can only cry in fear. Do they not have families of their own, any form of conscience or remorse?

The saddest part is even if I try, I don’t think it can make a difference. Even though people may say little things become big when it adds up, I don’t think it can take away the pain, or lift the trauma. I am so disappointed that the only thing I can do now is write this while shaking my head and say tsk.. tsk.. tsk..
