What Makes Singlehood Fun

Approximately a year and five months since the worst break up I've ever gone through, and I am healed, fully recovered, and living the life. People told me I may have a hard time coping alone after being in a long term relationship, but I am actually loving being single at 23 for many reasons.

Dates, Hanging Out and Whatnot
Being single again makes you available for the other seekers out there. You are once again part of the dating scene and every one in there is most likely happy to welcome you. Do them a favor and grace the floor with your ethereal presence. Wipe those tears, shower, and in the words of the great Barney Stinson, "suit up".

Freedom
The freedom you gain after a break up does not only stop in seeing people. It extends to life-changing decisions such as "should I finally get that post-grad degree?" or "should I jump on the next plane to the most bustling city in the world?". Remember that the world did not stop. In fact, the sun has just started to shine on you again. Take advantage of the liberation and strut towards self-improvement.

Travel and Treats
Yes. You can now step out of the house without needing to report where you're going, what you'll be doing, and who you'll be doing it with. Being single means you are pretty much on your own. You need not care. (well except for your parents). You can book a flight anywhere in the world whenever you feel the itch to be away from the city. You may drive out of town too if you got wheels. Traveliing, will not only establish your independence, it will also help you heal.

New People
When you were with him, you know almost everyone in his circle of friends and family. But that is pretty much where it stops. You don't even know that guy behind you in the office. When you're single again, the boundaries he imposed by being around, shatters. Thus, you can now shake hands with anyone you would like to get to know. You can invite them for coffee or dinner out. Yes. Time's changed and you can do that. So do it!

Break ups may be hard hits in the beginning, but in the long run, it also has its benefits. You may even find yourself thanking your lucky stars after.
