Drunkenness

Filipinos have this great love for fun. Even when there is really nothing to celebrate people tend to create an occasion. Birthdays supposed to be celebrated three days later are celebrated for three days just to have some reason to serve good food and unlimited booze. It is actually not really bad as it serves as relaxation for some, a kind of recreation where friends or families can bond. However, it is inevitable that with the booze continually pouring, everyone in the celebration drops unconscious or goes home with a stab on the back. It is inevitable that each person in the drinking spree becomes very drunk to the point of amnesia. of course, this is not the literal medical amnesia. It only meant that people become so drunk that they lose grip of themselves and do things that they are unaware of. There are many kinds of things that happen when people in a party become very drunk.

One of the many effects or results of total drunkenness is forgetfulness. This may be nice as it helps relieve the person of the blame if ever something untoward was done. As the person does not remember a thing of what occurred the time of the drinking, no one can point a finger at him. He may also readily say "I did not do it. I don't remember doing it". In this kind of situation, evidence is crucial. If there is not any evidence, there is no way the person may be held culpable for the deed. Advantageous is it not? However, in reality this effect of drunkenness is like any other result. It has another side, a negative side. As may be seen, in this kind of effect, there is no way to tell whether something actually happened. everything is misty and like a dream. As such, when something really nice occurred, instead of being added to the box of good memories in a person's brain, it goes nowhere. It remains unremembered until the person's dying day. Sadly, nothing will be left but the faint traces of the event, which at some point still would not make any sense as the brain cannot find an experience to connect it to. Perhaps the brain has clues but the vagueness of the memory hinders in the completion of the puzzle.

Another effect of drunkenness is the instantaneous intellect. Due to the booze, the person becomes very confident. This confidence sometimes consumes the person and even when in reality the person is very timid and fickle-minded, he becomes very intelligent and a know-it-all. This is advantageous for at some point this brings out the best of the drunk person. Also, this starts really nice sensible conversations in the party. However, due to the fact that not only one person becomes over-confident, the disadvantage of this is that it also starts fights and brawls.

A third effect of drunkenness is unconsciousness. This may be considered really nice. The person drunk with this kind of effect is not a nuisance to the group in anyway. People with this kind of drunk effect are not to be worried upon. They just drink then drops unconscious or asleep. However, the disadvantage of this is that sometimes this points that the other person is sick somehow and the unconsciousness is one of the symptoms or manifestations. This may mean trouble and the drinking which was supposed to be really fun becomes a horrible nightmare especially if the drunk person did not just drop unconscious. Instead, he dropped dead.

Definitely one of these effects has been experienced by each person. Whether the person was the forgetful one or the unconscious type, it is inevitable for a person, especially a Filipino, to have not become drunk even once in his lifetime. It should be noted that even though at the end of the day the said advantages of the effects are still disadvantages, there is no fun at all in drinking without getting drunk. The drinks were meant to mess with people's brains. As such, let them do their job, if one does not want then one better not drink. Kampai!hehehe
